The Persian F-You (2025)

Mixed Media: Wood, Graphite, Persian Rug, 44” × 26”

Wood, Persian rug, and graphite converge in this unapologetic sculpture — a visceral act of defiance made tangible.

At its core, a hand is sketched directly onto raw wood, bursting from a handcrafted frame wrapped in the intricate patterns of a Persian rug. The materials create a stark contrast — organic against ornate, raw against refined — heightening the tension between containment and release.

The artist built the frame herself, using traditional craftsmanship to form a structure that both holds and releases. The hand breaking free becomes a symbol of the strength required to reclaim power — and to let go of what no longer serves. Raw wood carries the unfiltered emotion of the work, while the Persian rug roots it in heritage and personal history.

The Persian F-You is a celebration of resilience — a refusal to be confined by expectation or demand. Bold yet deliberate, it invites viewers to consider the moment when life insists we say, “enough.”

It stands as a testament to reclaiming one’s voice — and finding beauty in the act of rebellion itself.

In a private collection.
